Health Benefits of Raisins

Raisins are dried grapes. They are produced almost in most parts of the world, such as Armenia, the United States, Australia, Chile, Argentina, Turkey, India, Iran, Pakistan, South Africa and Europe. Raisins can be eaten raw or can be used in desserts and confectioneries. Raisins contain 69% sugar by weight, most of which is fructose. Following are the benefits of including raisins in your diet.
•    Raisins being high in fiber, when soaked in water and consumed gives relief in constipation.
•    Raisins, like all dry fruits, provide instant energy as they are full of fructose and glucose. Thus, they form an ideal part of the diet for either athletes or body builders who need a lot of energy or those who want to put on weight, without accumulating cholesterol.
•    The presence of many vitamins, amino acids and minerals (such as selenium, phosphorus etc.) in raisins facilitate absorption of other nutrients and proteins in the body.
