Peach Fritters

Getting your hands on peaches right now might be a little difficult, but if you happen to find some in one of those supermarkets that stocks all seasonal fruits, make sure you pick them up. These peaches are great as it is, poached in sugar syrup and served warm with vanilla ice-cream or fresh cream and of course  as conserve and fritters!

Peach Fritters make a wonderful thanksgiving dessert that’s really easy to make and tastes absolutely heavenly. Imagine a burst of gooey, peachy sweetness wrapped in a sweet and salty, crispy wrap? Sounds great, doesn’t it? Take a look!

Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 medium peaches
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup Coombs Family Farms 100% pure organic maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Procedure:

  • Mix everything except peaches and oil and let it stand for 10 minutes. Meanwhile cut peaches into wedges and remove the pit. Hold the peach down with a fork and coat it with the batter evenly. Release into smoking hot oil and fry golden brown.
  • Serve with maple syrup!
