Kerala Kadhi- Moru Kootan (Buttermilk Curry)

I’m not particularly fond of Kadhi (Buttermilk curry) which is made in different parts of India in varied styles. But I find the Kerala version of kadhi just irresistible. In Kerala it’s called the Morukootan (Moru meaning buttermilk and kootan meaning curry). It derives its flavor from three main ingredients: buttermilk, pepper and coconut. You can even convert sour curd into this delicious dish. In my recipe I’ve used pieces of ripe banana which lends a slightly sweet twist to it.
