This Diwali, take a resolution to try something new, that would keep your guests craving for more!

A Mogul invention, Shahi Tukda is a North-Indian dessert prepared with sliced fried breads, milk, sugar, nuts and flavored with saffron and cardamoms. Royal and yet simple, the Shahi Tukda marks the festive season and is a perfect way to start celebrating.

 

Shahi Tukda

Ingredients:
• Slices of bread: 6
• Milk: 4 cups

• Condensed milk: 1 cup

• Sugar: 4 tbsp
• Saffron for flavor
• Sliced pistachios: 1 tsp
• Sliced almonds: 1 tsp
• Cardamoms: 6

Oil: for frying

Method:

Refrigerate for atleast 2 h and serve chilled.

Serves 5 to 10.
