Breakfast Oats Khichdi with Glucerna

Most of us know by now that oats makes a real good breakfast option, especially for those who suffer from Diabetes, or are at risk. Oats is a Diabetes superfood. When you club two superior diabetes-friendly ingredients in your breakfast – oats and Glucerna – you are sure that your sugar levels will not peak up. Having Glucerna incorporated in your breakfast everyday ensures that the Carbohydrates with a low glycemic index (designed for slow absorption by the body to provide sustained release of energy) are released slowly in the system.

 

Breakfast Oats Khichdi with Glucerna

Time taken: 15 min

Taste-o-meter: Savoury

 

Ingredients:

Oats (soaked for 10 min): 1 cup

Moong dal: 1 cup

Oil: 1 tsp

Cumin seeds: 1/2 tsp

Bay leaf: 1

Dried chillies: 3

Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp

Cumin powder: 1.5 tsp

Ginger paste: 1 tsp

Salt: according to taste

Glucerna powder: 3 tbsp

 

Method:

Pressure cook all the ingredients (except the Glucerna) with sufficient water. Switch off the gas and add the Glucerna at the end. Make sure to stir the soup well.
