Pesarattu recipe: Dosa made from green grams

Pesarattu

Want to make Dosa Corner like dosas? Check this authentic recipe out that I found way back in the 90’s and it still happens to hold true. Simple and very easy, this recipe only needs a handful of ingredients and a day’s time!

Ingredients

  • Moong dal – 2 cups
  • Ginger – 1 inch piece
  • Green chilies – 8
  • Salt – 2 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds – 2 tsp

Procedure

  • Soak moong dal overnight
  • Blend soaked moong daal with green chilies, a piece of ginger and 2 teaspoon of salt.
  • To the batter, add cumin seeds and give it a mix again.
  • Heat a girdle, sprinkle some water and check whether it sizzles.
  • Pour one tbsp of batter and spread it to a round going out.
  • Lower the flame and let it turn golden brown
  • Add a teaspoon of oil at the edges
  • Fold and serve with chutney or topping of your choice.
