Spicy Buttermilk

There’s no better way of beating the summer milk than with a glass of chilled spicy buttermilk. This is an age old recipe and as long as my memory goes I remember having it after every meal. It’s served in most Indian restaurants after a heavy meal. The ingredients are such that it helps digestion, increases metabolism and prevents acidity.

One sip of this refreshing drink after returning from the sun and you’ll know the revitalizing feeling I’m talking about. I always make about ½ to 1 liter of it and store it in the fridge and it serves me good for around 2-3 days.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 tsp of grated ginger
  • 1 green chili
  • Salt
  • 1-2 strands coriander leaves
  • 2 pinches of asafetida

Method

Grind all the above ingredients in a mixer/blender and serve chilled.

Serves 2

Preparation time: 5 minutes
