Apple pie

An apple a day keeps the doctor away. This is the best excuse i use to reduce my guilt when i want to indulge in this favorite sweet dish. I learned this dish while watching one of my favorite cookery show’s. Its one of the simplest and easiest recipes for a sweet dish and considerably healthy too!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup maida
  • ¼ cup soy flour
  • ¼ cup wheat flour
  • ¼ cup oat flour
  • 2cup apple pulp or shredded apples
  • 1 or 2 egg
  • 1cup butter
  • 2tsp baking powder
  • 1cup milk approximately
  • 1cup milk powder
  • 1cup sugar powder
  • Few drops of apple essence

Method:

Beat eggs till the yolks dissolve and become foamy.

Now mix sugar and butter in the processor jar of a mixer. Add and mix the beaten eggs to this mixture. Add and mix all flours, baking powder, and milk powder to it. Now add and mix apple pulp, shredded apples and apple essence to the mixture. Go on mixing milk slowly, till the mixture gets softer. The result will be a solft dough. Remove the dough from the processor and keep in a bowl. Cover the bowl, keep it for half an hour. Then make 3 to 4 big equal parts, roll on rolling board and make thick pies (similar to Bhakri’s) from the same. You can give it whatever shape you like. Roll it round or make it heart shaped with your hands. Since the dough is soft, you will have to be careful so that it doesn’t tear. Grease an oven plate or dish and keep the pie in it. Bake in pre heated oven at 150c. Now arrange the temperature at 200c and bake the apple pie for anpther 10 minutes on baking mode. Then remove the plate and reverse the side and bake again for 10 to 15 minutes till it turns pinkish brown in colour. Remove in a serving dish.

Serve with some honey and butter or chocolate sauce on it and even sprinkle some grated apple on it.
